Our client needed more space for their growing family along with an attached garage. The client provided building plans for a 1300 square foot house addition consisting of a master bedroom with “his and her” walk-in closets, a walkout basement, and a large two car garage.
Once all necessary permits were approved and the house foundation was set, TNT Interior Renovations & Designs began construction. An engineered steel I-Beam was first installed and then the floor structure was built. All walls were framed and engineered trusses were installed with the help of a crane. Some stick framing was done to tie the new trusses into the existing roof.
Once the roof decking was finished and shingled, all electrical was roughed in. Upon the electrical passing inspection, all insulation and vapour barrier was installed and ready for drywall and mud.
Ceramic tile was installed in the mudroom, and carpet in the bedroom for flooring. A custom built shelving unit was installed in place of an existing window.
James Hardie siding, soffit, fascia, and eavestrough were installed on the exterior of this house addition.
In the end our client was very pleased as they had double the square foot space of their home. They now have a large master bedroom, extra bedrooms for their growing family as well as guests, and a huge two car garage for their vehicles with plenty of extra space for storage, toys and tools.
